Are you interested in running your own SIPP and ISA’s? We will be looking at Global Macro and its effect on all asset classes. What is pertinent to medium/long term investors now? How do we express these themes into a portfolio? We will be looking at individual shares, Exchange Traded Funds (ETF’s) and Investment Trusts.

A key aim is to understand the thought process of an investor and be able to apply it. Time will be spent showing where to source information to build up your financial knowledge. Please note, this is not a course about short-term trading, and we won’t be discussing cryptocurrencies.

Entry Requirements
  • Understand and interpret the Global Macro picture
  • Analyse the options open to private investors for long-term investing
  • Build up their financial markets knowledge
  • Improve their investment decision-making. Understand how macroeconomics and fundamental news affect markets

Four interactive 90-minute sessions

  • Look at the present Global Macro picture – the major themes this year
  • Discuss the outlook for equities, fixed income markets, FX, commodities and alternatives
  • Look at investing ideas/themes in the market today
  • Breakdown of ETF’s and how to use them in your portfolio
  • Look at Investment Trusts and how they fit in your portfolio
  • Investigate what to read and what webinars/podcasts can help build your financial knowledge
  • Take a look at some live markets to explain discussion topics
  • Consider individual client needs to determine topics to be discussed
