LAT has partnered with Maltby Marshall to provide its students with an exclusive opportunity to begin or develop their trading careers.

Maltby Marshall is a bespoke proprietary trading firm and City institution focusing on Spot market trading and risk management. Through regulated funding, Maltby Marshall provides traders the opportunity to leverage their capital without accumulating risk. They specialise in building verified track records, adding to your trading portfolio and regulating your trading strategy.

Maltby Marshall are looking for candidates to trade on their tailored Matched Funding package, where you will have the opportunity to leverage your core account 4:1. Upon demonstrating consistency and risk awareness over a 24-month period, you can apply to be put forward for institutional funding through their FCA regulated partners.

Responsibilities

Upon passing your assigned compliance and risk-monitoring period (incubation period):

  • Taking ownership of a leveraged trading book by implementing developed strategies and executing positions in G-10 and Emerging Market FX, Commodities and major Equity bourses (trading permissions based on experience and track record)
  • Complete responsibility in refining your strategy, devising trade ideas and managing risk exposure
  • Generating consistent alpha to build a verified track record for further backing


What Maltby Marshall Are Looking For

Junior Trader

  • Solid understanding of financial markets coupled with a sound approach to trading and risk management.
  • Strong knowledge in analytical disciplines for trade idea generation
  • Ability to manage risk effectively and adapt to changes in volatility
  • Able to interpret financial news and chart developments, and determining the impact of such changes to market risk and sentiment

Experienced Trader

  • REQUIRED: Minimum 3-month live track record trading in any asset class (live track record consisting of multi asset trades is required to attain multiple trading permissions).
  • Solid understanding of financial markets coupled with a sound approach to trading and risk management.
  • Strong knowledge in analytical disciplines for trade idea generation
  • Ability to manage risk effectively and adapt to changes in volatility

Interview:

  • About Maltby Marshall and background
  • Overview of knowledge, experience, strategy and track records.

Compliance and Risk-Monitoring (incubation period):

  • Trading must follow the Maltby Marshall risk parameters on a live trading account. At the end of the monitoring period, trading activity will be reviewed and you will be informed of your eligibility. (All profits at this stage are retained by the trader)
    • Junior Trader:
      • 3-month (Minimum) monitoring period on personal capital
    • Experienced Trader:
      • 1-month monitoring period on personal capital

First-Round Funding

  • Account will be leveraged 4:1 (i.e. for every £1000, of your live account, Maltby Marshall will add £4000). Profits will be split 50/50 on the total account balance.
